The setting is very dark which is appropriate for the dark speech that Hamlet is giving. There are not a lot of props in this scene so it will not distract from the emotion of the soliloquy. The brightest light on stage is focused on the actor drawing attention to him.
I used this same video. I also noticed that the phones next to him are green and red, which also played with color symbolism. With him debating whether or not to kill himself, it’s appropriate to have the two contrasting colors at his side; red for “stop” and green to signify “go” or the continuation of his life.
